ABOUT US
Freegold Limited is a Canadian exploration company focused on advancing significant gold resources in Alaska.
The company is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (FVL) and the OTCQX (FGOVF), with headquarters in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Its principal asset is the Golden Summit Project near Fairbanks – one of the largest undeveloped gold deposits in North America – located in the Tintina Gold Belt.
Although Golden Summit has a long history in the Fairbanks Gold District, the modern Golden Summit project is relatively new in its current form. A key inflection point came in 2020, when a new geological interpretation reframed the property from a collection of historical showings and narrow, high-grade targets within a lower-grade halo to one with meaningful bulk-tonnage potential, identifying the potential for broad zones (100 – 300m) of higher grade.
That shift in understanding provided a clear exploration thesis – one that is being systematically tested through step-out drilling, tighter-spaced drilling, and ongoing refinement of the geologic and resource models.
The results of that post-2020 pivot have been substantial. Since 2020, more than 170,000 meters of drilling have been completed, driving significant growth in both ounces and confidence as mineralization has been delineated. Programs from 2020 through 2025 focused on expanding and better defining the continuous Cleary and Dolphin zones, as well as the newer WOW zone, which together make up the Dolphin deposit.
These initiatives assessed higher-grade, shear-hosted mineralization within schists and intrusive, successfully tracing these mineralized corridors from the Cleary Road Cut Shear in the northeast to the furthest extent of current drilling in the southwest – a distance exceeding 1.5 km and spanning approximately 100–300 m in width. Concurrently, enhancements to the geological model and improved understanding of mineralization controls have facilitated the expansion of the mineralization footprint toward the southwest and southeast. Recent drilling activities have extended the footprint an additional 500 m eastward with the identification of the Tamarack Zone. The Tamarack discovery has the potential to further extend this system by approximately 500 m to the east, exhibiting mineralization characteristics consistent with those of the main deposit.
In. addition, metallurgical trade-off studies have progressed the project by demonstrating that recoveries exceeding 90% are achievable using sulphide-oxidizing methods (including BIOX®, POX, and the Albion Process™). More recent testwork with the GlassLock Process™ has indicated the potential to produce a higher-grade, saleable concentrate while reducing arsenic levels.
Overall, the reinterpretation of 2020 has sparked a sustained exploration cycle that has transformed Golden Summit into a rapidly evolving, resource-scale project supported by continuous drilling, discovery, and technical de-risking.
